How do american eagles jeans run?

Question

I wear all american eagles tops, hoodies and jackets in xl, and coats in xxl... ive never tryed their jeans before. i have some shorts/skirts in size 18 from there... are their jeans made small? i want to get a pair but i dont want to go thru the hassle of returning them.. i usually wear an 18 or 20 in jeans... and id get the biggest they carry which is 18... what are your thoughts on how their jeans are made?

I think that their jeans run big so you should get the next size up

If anything, I'd say their pants run a little big. I am small but not incredibly tiny, and I don't fit in any of their pants. If you usually wear an 18 or 20, an 18 at AE should work for you.

In my experience, they tend to run small. I usually wear a 00, and the jeans and shorts that I have purchased from American Eagle are size 0, and even then they're a bit snug. This seems to be how it is with my friends, as well; one of my friends is normally a size 14 but she has to buy a size 16 or 18 in AE jeans. I'd go to the store and try the 18, but I think it would be too small.

I really like the way they fit. I think they are pretty true to size not running too big or too small. I think they look flattering on most people.

Their jeans are really weird, so you should just try on a whole bunch.  Last year I could barely fit into a 0 there, and now I'm a 2, and I only gained a few pounds.  The 2 is a little tight on me and even if I get the 2 short, they're still really long.  So you can find a pair that you're comfortable with, you just have to try on a lot first [: Good luck!
