  1. There is something called the USDA that has laws about that. In addition, city health departments ensure that what is being prepared is what is claimed to be served, and clean too.

Of course we trust the USDA. Why wouldn't we?

  2. The US is the place where standards and regulations are strict. If you've eaten chicken all of your life, you know chicken when you see and eat it. Beef, chicken, and pork are mass produced; to use anything else would be too expensive. There are black market items such as dog and cat meat that are sold here. But that's in the Asian markets, and at some of their restaurants. I would be more suspicious of meat if I was in a third world country. I probably wouldn't eat it.

  3. If it isn't chicken or beef, what is it? No really, did you ever go to Mexico? Have carne de burro?.

It is real chicken, maybe not the most healthy but it is real.

Because if they weren't serving "real" beef or chicken, they stood to lose Hundreds of millions of dollars, and they wouldn't do that. Plus McDonald's is not in the burger business, they are a real estate company (they own the land that the McD's are built on and lease it back to the owner. that is how they make their money)

  4. Fast food is mainly processed in a large factory which means that they can add whatever they want to the so called meat, as long as a large percentage of it is meat. The Chicken McNuggets at Mcdonald's are absolutely disgusting. They use fatty chicken meat, add loads of sodium and preservatives, then deep fry it and freeze dry it.

If you really wanted real meat, you would be grilling up your own burgers and chicken and not eating out at some gross, greasy and disgusting fast food restaurant.

  5. thats is y they use miracle grlow on the animals and veg

and some chickens be having  likk 8 wings and 10 legs

its ashame our animals have 2 suffer like that

just for people 2 waste the food anyway

i mean look at these kids in this wprld who just waste waste waste like there aint no starving people in this world and like meat just grow on trees and s**+%. how about we make these kids eat rice and no meat until they learn to appriciate it

  6. That is exactly why I don't eat fast food.

  7. Because it would be against the law, not to mention more expensive to provide other meats, especially kangaroo.

By the way, I class "I've heard" as the same as "they say" when it comes to worthwhile, meaningful, and factual research.

  8. The problem is not so much whether it's "real" chicken or beef, but the quality of the meat -- how it was raised -- was it injected with growth enhancing chemicals, etc.; how was it processed . . . with mechanical deboners? . . . etc., . . . the cleanliness of the "farms" where it was raised, the processing plants, etc. . . . and on and on and on!

Whether a product  is "real" is just the beginning of the possible questions that could be raised about our entire food supply.

  9. Does it matter if its real chicken or beef? Or even good quality? As long as it tastes good, right?  Besides, once at Taco Bell, I saw an empty cardboard box of beef outside, and on the side it said something like "Grade D. Fit for human consumption.  So, it's not quality beef, but it's eatable.

  10. I would guess that kangaroo meat would be more expensive to use.  Raccoon would taste more like pork and I've never had rat so I'd have to guess.  Either way, they'd probably be more nutritional valuable to you than beef or chicken.  It's just we're not conditioned to eat those types of meat.

We hope and trust that our government food inspectors are doing their jobs and keeping fast food places on their toes.  But the bottom line is, we really don't know for sure, even if we go to the store, buy the meat and cook it ourselves.  The grocery stores could be in on the switcheroo too.

  11. Hi,

I seldom go to McDonalds, not because I don't trust but because   I prefer other foods.

Now, people worry about McDonalds. What about the other restaurants ? In terms of higiene I trust McDonalds better than most restaurants.

For me the main problem is not the cooking but the ingredients.

Nowadays one doesn't have good food as 20 or 30 years ago.

But lets get back to your subject. People should put into their minds - first they should start thinking on their own instead of believing everything they see on TV, afterall Darth Vader is not a real character - that McDonalds is a company with shareholders. And what does that mean ? It means that if the company used less "legal" ingredients it would be a disaster for the stock. And shareholders won't want that.

    It's as simple as that.

I'm not defending them and I do think that children are far better having steak, fish, soup, fruit and salads ( McDonalds does sell soup and salads here in Portugal).

But going to McDonalds once in a while is far from being a sin.

    Kind regards,

    Joséhttp://theartinquirer.blogspot.com

  12. i don't like either, and won't visit any fast food restaurant.

that said, both KFC and McD's have pretty strict standards for the product they purchase - this doesn't make it better, or even good - but they both are so large, and purchase so much product that they regularly inspect the slaughterhouses, in fact, McD's has forced "improvements" to the system.

personally, i would trust McD over the USDA, but not too much.

  13. The FDA performs regular inspections to ensure a basic (but low) quality of beef.  It is not that the beef/chicken is "fake"-it's that the meat is usually full of hormones, preservatives, and additives that are unhealthy.  Of course, however, very occasional consumption isn't going to kill you.

  14. Trust me you DO NOT want to know- just eat it if you like it...

2 small reef patties special sauce lettuce cheese pickles onion on a sesame seed bun

or maybe it's 2 all sheep patties

    2 all meat patties

    100% "Beef"

KFC- Kitchen Fresh Canine- they do not advertise that it is chicken in all locations some are just "KFC"

  15. Because,if oyu go to a meat packing plant(which packs & ships the meat) or a Tyson's chicken plant (which also ships chicken) Or a "chicken house that they do the same, believe me then you'd know! Also the health dept. has to check these thngs out. Also,I'm sure that "racoon does have a different taste to it. I know rabbit does,as well as buffalo meat or horse meat or deer meat.

That's how you know,it does have a different taste to it!

I've worked in different restaurants for years,& I do know for a fact that all the companies that I 've ever worked for DO use the real meat!

  16. i am a manager at kfc and trust me.. they sell real chickens. they come in these blue lugs filled with blood and 10 bags each containing 16 pcs of chicken. i grew up on a farm where we killed our own chickens and other animals so the blood doesnt bother me at all. as for mcdonalds, their patties that are on their hamburgers / cheeseburgers / double cheeseburgers etc are made of soy. however, their quarter pounder patties and the patties that are a bit more beefy are actually real meat. as for other places, i dunno. but they taste yummy!!

  17. I think we can trust the USDA, not the fast food resturaunts, though. Should we trust McDonalds? Heck no, but people do anyway, and I don't understand why the health inspection people don't drop in on surprise inspections, it makes me so mad when stuff like that can't be prevented because people aren't doing their job!

  18. McDonalds is probably serving real beef, as for KFC, they are probably serving compressed rubber, at least that's what it taste like. The USDA really don't give a ****. I've never had a White Castle burger and from what I've been told, don't want one.

  19. cause im sure theres people that have absoulty no life and there going to buy chicken and burgers from mickey d's and analyze them now.  plus the compaines would loose millions and millions of dollars in the lawsuit of WHOLE WORLD vs. McDonalds owners.  that would be pretty bad.....plus they taste good so whoo cares!

  20. KFC and Mickie D's..

It tastes like chicken...it tastes like beef.  It looks like chicken, it looks like beef.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it IS a duck.

Meanwhile, I avoid White Castles. Those "burgers" do look funny.

  21. KFC is offering real chicken as there is no substitute known, however most fast food places have served horse meat for years in their burgers.  Horse meat is inexpensive and combined with other ingredients makes your burger look like it is real beef.  Rat meat is way to labor intensive due to its size, and I know nothing of Kangaroo meat.  BUT the real health danger lies in the antibiotics and steriods fed to the chicken or cow or horse that gets in the meat and then gets in your body when you eat it.  Thus America Fattens up.

  22. you don't. and now people say you can run your car on vinegar + soda + cooking oil = biodiesel. if true, we could have been doing it long long time ago but nobody said it could be done and these evil oil companies wouldnt earn a dime. people just take everybody else to be fools. they do it just for a laugh or take your money.

  23. If you want to know what is in McDonald's food, I suggest you watch supersize me. You can't be sure of what they use in restaurants, or weather or not its fresh. That's why I don't eat out often, unless it's expensive restaurants where I know they have good quality food. Also some cheap chinese places use rat meat instead of chicken, because it resembles chicken mean, and there isn't much difference in taste.

  24. No.  there are many cases of "downers" cattle that is used in the production of fast food hamburgers and also sold for home consumption.

As far a raccoon or rat meat it would not be economically viable

unless you owned a Chinese Restaurant and then its

    "protein is protein."

White Castle is beef but it has a lot of fillers and gristle and

W.C. grinds up a lot of bones too..

Eat what you want but in the end you never know for sure?

  25. mcdonalds doesnt serve real beef they serve sponges mixed with old mayonaise. kfc doesnt serve real chicken they serve fried toes with salt. brainpoop/pacoatemytaco.org. it explains everything about food, cars, ant eaters, and of course elephants. have fun!

  26. Both KFC & McDonalds are monitored by the USDA & the FDA.

Kangaroos are not native to America, so the very idea that either institution is cooking "Kangaroo burgers" is simply asinine.

If you are that concerned, and have that little trust in the USDA & FDA, then quit eating KFC and McDonalds.

  27. when it comes down to it no one really knows what goes on or how your food is prepared at fast food restaurants, that's why it is best to prepare your own. However, by law places that serve food have to go through inspection by an organization that i forgot the name of i learned about it in history though and that is how it is tracked.

  28. Americans and every other country that has a McDonalds or other fast food place does not know for sure exactly what that meat is.  Same thing for leather; for all we know it could be tanned human skin - gross!

There has to be an element of trust if you are going to eat at fast food or other restaurants.  You have to trust that they are clean, that the food they are serving is what they claim and that there is no need for them to lie to you.

Americans don't know and some of us choose to live in the bliss of ignorance.

  29. Well the USDA wouldn't want to lie to us...hahahaha I know the USDA is full of c**p. We've eaten something odd in one of those fast food places and did you know that KFC cuts off the beaks of their chickens and are then fed by straws. The cutting of their beaks also makes them retain more fat!

  30. Raccoons? Are you kidding? Where would they get that many from? Where is the giant rat farm too?

I know what chicken looks like, you can't fake that unless they are recycling the bones from the trash and somehow hanging rat meat on them. That would be time consuming and not profitable in the least. If you think they are doing that though you should break every bone into several little pieces.

  31. First of all if you can go to a science lab and do testing or do some of your self by tasting chicken you bought and if you know someone from KFC ask them to make it for you with that chicken. And they do have health departments they would shut them down .

And raccoons!!!!Yuck. What is White Castles??Are they sick.
