How much of it comes from rain/snow, and how long does it take for it to trickle down there? How long would it take for one to refill? I am sure there are many many factors that would affect this, but in general. Thanks

  1. It depends on which aquifer you are talking about. Most aquifers get recharged by rainwater that peculates through the ground and eventually reaches the aquifer. About how long it can take?  That depends heavily on where your talking about. For some it make take just days, others it may take hundreds of years or longer. It also depends on the rock type. Is it limestone, sandstone, shale, siltstone? There are tons of possibilities. Rain and snow are also heavily dependent on the area where you may be talking about. Snow, not so much, but when it melts then some of the melt off would find its way to an aquifer but most aquifers water comes from rainwater. The question is quite vague, therefore harder to answer. Hope this helped though.
