How do authors make book covers? Not a book cover book cover more like a first draft thing.?

I want to kind of see what some ideas would be for a book cover, or i should say how I'd make them, any ideas?

  1. Mos authors don't design a front cover and when writing the book may have the title of the book written on a piece of paper but as for pictures and colours ect they don't have.

    When the book is about to be published someone will be employed to design the cover and if you look inside at the small writting in most books it will tell you who that person was.


  2. Usually, the author isnt the one making the cover, the publishers take care of that.

    For purposes of putting it in three-ring-binders and passing out to friends, though, try a minimalistic stock photograph. BUY IT first, at a stock site, and then use Photoshop to give yourself a the title, and your name. Dont ever put something like "The #1 New York Times Bestseller" under your name, though. It makes you come off as pigheaded.
