I have this issue since we moved to new apartment. even tomato catch up i keep in refrigerator for three days, it will have fungal on it in 3 days to week's time.

is there any remedy to this? is there any spray which i can add to refrigerator or storage space to avoid this? it is also surprising as this happens while day temperature is 60F.

  1. That's highly unusual if your refrigerator is working properly.  I don't know of any type of mold that will grow so quickly at cold temperatures.

Check your fridge controls to make sure the temp isn't turned way up (they are inside somewhere).  Then I suggest you purchase a refrigerator thermometer (you can get one at any kitchen store).  Place it at various locations in your refrigerator.  It's possible that your fridge is just not getting cold enough, or that it is failing to circulate the cold air to all parts of the fridge.  The ideal temp is  between 35 and 38 degrees F (1.7 to 3.3 degrees C).

    Good luck.
