  1. Guitar Center credit cards...You can finance stuff like that and pay it off little by little.  Also I'm sure some of them just save up themselves, I mean most musicians who haven't made it big yet also have a day job!!

Some of them are probably gifts from parents/relatives.

  2. yup, they buy it.

Or they rent it, if they don't have the need to have all that much stuff all the time.

Or, rarely, and mostly for successful artists, they get donated equipment by manufacturers in exchange for the manufacturer being allowed to use their name in marketing efforts.

A lot of those amp boxes are often empty, especially if you see huge stacks of Marshall speaker cabinets.

  3. For live gigs...sometimes they borrow other bands equip on stage. When I was a drum roadie for 3 different bands of my friends. They did that all the time. All the drummers on the bill for the night would borrow the first drummers kit...because it saves time of setting up and tearing down gear...that's why.

As for Guitar amps...sometimes they borrow them and sometimes they don't. It really just depends on who's on the bill for the night. A signed band has more money to spend on gear than an unsigned band does.

  4. Sometimes the bands who do concerts request equipment in their contracts .

The bands carry their guitars and keyboards when they travel but the sound system and amps on stage is supplied by the promoters .
