  1. You pass the exam.

On study tips - take those  practice tests.  Examine each question, and be able to explain not just why the right answer is right, but why the wrong answers are wrong.

  2. Study study and study...take a afew practice tests before you dive in then good luck

  3. If you want to become a health benefits broker and don't want to go through all the license and stuff you may want to consider AmeriPlan.

  4. Look in the Sunday Paper (my sister lives in Neosho - trust me - there are PLENTY of ads!)

Just starting out - it's best to start with a Life Company that will help you get licensed (and they'll give you PLENTY of help with that) sometimes they even pay for the licensing!

Someone like Aflac, Bankers Life & Casualty, United Insurance Company of America

I've worked for them all...and they gave me great basic sales training and leads...and you have NO start-up cost out of your pocket!

If you feel you need little training & wanna make LOTS OF $$$ and could use leads to sell....

try National Agents Alliance - I was with them for the MOST years and made the MOST $ with them....you'll be considered a broker - they will set you up with the companies...BUT they lend little support in licensing or start-up costs- it's a do-it-yourself and you have to PAY for everything yourself...even leads...and there's little training except "read this & do it" - the conventions are GREAT & AMAZING TRAINING! But they are again - at your own expense & quite expensive!

www.naadavies.com is a great site to read about them and Stephen Davies and his family offers great advice (he considers his agents a family - but his father & brothers are also his agents!)

I'm no longer with National Agents Alliance for personal reasons - but they were the best way to become a broker - if you have available start-up cash of your own! (SO - no I'm getting no commission or $ for referring you)
