  1. Alcohol has calories. So do the foods people eat while drunk. Too many calories causes weight gain. A "beer gut" is caused by indulging in too much food and drink. You get rid of them by exercising and cutting back on caloric intake.

  2. Beer is loaded with soluble carbs.

One beer is about equal to a glazed dough-nut.

The more you drink, the fatter you get.

  3. You drink a lot of beer your going to get a beer guy no matter how much you drink. Are beer guts a certain size?

  4. A beer gut really has nothing to do with beer, it's just extra carbohydrates that get stored as fat in front of the intestines. and for some reason this happens more with men than women (probably because women allocate fat to their hips, thighs, and b*****s).  Because normal beer has a lot of carbs in it, even if you watch what you eat, if you drink a lot of beer you can still get a gut.

The solution to beer guts is to watch your carbohydrate and Calorie intake, and either drinking less or drinking smarter (remember that alcohol itself is converted by the body into fat and carbohydrates, so drinking low-carb beer isn't really a solution).
