How do big companies get companies to sign up for advertising? Is there a 3rd party that does it for them?

  1. Most of them don't have to. The companies line up and give proposals. If you are a smaller firm and need to find an advertiser, first talk to your Chamber of Commerce for referrals, then talk to other business owners.


  2. The large media companies have their own sales-forces.  Some local TV/radio station groups use national representative services to represent them across the country.  Most large advertisers use advertising buying services (arms of national agency groups) to buy media for them.
