  1. Right where you are now. ONLINE. This is the main source for debt collection agencies to obtain telephone numbers. You may not even think of it, but you have put your phone number online in one way or another.

  2. "They have ways"  alright. First, the collection agency gets a contract from whoever you owe money to.  Part of that contract is that the people you owe money to has to give the collection agency all possible contact information that they have on you.  So when you made the original purchase, you filled out information that goes there.

Since credit is involved - they can also get your information from credit reporting agencies - and if you have ever given a number to anyone for possibly buyong on credit - they have that number.  You can get one free credit report on yourself a year from each of the major credit reporting agencies - it's the law

I hope this has helped. Besides - there are many ways to get a phone number.

  3. They have ways. Best to pay them what you owe them. You can start saving money by getting rid of your cell phone.

  4. Someone had to have given it to them.  Whether it was at work, or a different number, someone must have told them.  There'd be no other way they'd get it unless they are the phone company
