Do they have a boat refuse collection service? And do residents have to keep rubbish inside the house until collection day?!

Random question, but very puzzling! So thanks if you know.

  1. I lived in Venice for six years and I can telly you that they are trying to keep the city as clean as possible (lots of garbage unfortunately is left from tourists). They collect the garbage from homes, either they will ring at your door to call you or take what you left outside your door. They put the garbage in carts which they move all through the city and then they will transport the garbage on green boats that you often see on the Canal Grande and they will bring it to Marghera (outside Venice) for burning.

I recently read an article where they were writing that Naples should learn from Venice about handling garbage, for those who read Italian it's here:

  2. Floaters? Lol.

  3. The residents just throw the rubbish in the water

  4. i'm italian. i'm 15.

why do you come in sicily?

Venice is beautifoul!! but sicily... is the best!!

in sicily you can go in the beach, you  can enjou yourself, and other things are beautifoul.

I'm not very good in english...

    hallo!!

  5. After I read the other answers................I know we have a problem with the trash in Naples bit...Not all of italy is full of trash.  On the roads, real roads, side walks there are trash bins where people throw their trash, one some streets, which are water ways, yes there is a boat that passes to pick up trash.  Just as the public  transportation--busses are barges, taxis are speed boats
