  1. they eat the same way we do

just because their sight is gone doesn't mean

    their taste bugs are

  2. Actually, eating is not that hard, I've been in restaraunts where it was so dark, it was almost like being blind. If you closed your eyes, you could certainly tell the difference between a pork chop, a potatoe and peas with a fork. If you're careful, you can cut up something like a steak or chicken half without being able to see as the fork/knife are like an extention of you hand. When reaching for a glass, you would need to go slowly until you touched it, then its no problem. If you always put the glass in exactly the same place after a while, you would be able to reach right to it. If you were blind, you probably wouldn't need anybody to tell you what was for dinner as you probably would have made yourself. If you lived alone, and prepared their own food (which is entirely possible) you would keep a VERY organized kitchen. Everything would have a specific place, and would be put back immediately after use. There would be no unnecessary clutter not related to the job at hand. Such things as canned goods, spices, etc would be carefully organized and/or made identifiable by feel so they weren't mixed up. When filling glasses, you could stick a finger slightly down inside to tell when it is getting full (slighty unsanitary, but better that slopping stuff everywhere) After a while, you would be able to tell by weight that the glass was nearly full. There are a lot of specialized items available to help with certain tasks. These are just a few example.

  3. They might get help at the grocery store but with time most blind people learn how to cook their own meals by their sense of touch.

They feed themselves, usually putting food on their plate in certain areas of the plate so they know that at 1'oclock (imagine the plate is a clock face) is the potatoes and at 4 o'clock is the meat, etc.

  4. wtf kinna question is that.

    that's really disrespectful.
