How do blowflies find dead bodies so quickly in the wild?

And another thought, where the heck do they hang out before they discover the body?

  1. Their sense of smell is extremely high.  They "hang out" under leaves, in bushes, on trees, etc.


  2. Flies have extremely sensitive smell, and can detect dead bodies and decay very quickly from several kilometres away.

    They don't "hang out" anywhere. They are constantly on the move, alighting for only short periods, and live freely in most areas of the world.

  3. They have a very sensitive nose.
