by getting noticed at amature fights or at the training gym, by word of mouth or if somebody knows somebody that knows somebody.

Allot of boxers get noticed in the Olympic trials, which is a hanging ground for alot of promoters and managers waiting to sink there claws into young, gullible fighters.

Boxers like other athletes also get sports agents who in turn hook them up with Managers. Allot of managers are layers (probably the best way too go)
