How do bugs get inside the the coverings that house the outer lightbulb(s)?

  1. I've always wondered that too! I looked around online and found out some info:

    insects by nature will crawl into any space they can to protect themselves from predators and to find nesting spots. Since they have exoskeletons, they can be very flexible and can get into many seemingly "sealed" areas like lighting fixtures. Plus, many of them are attracted to the light to begin with, which is often suicidal in lights that are used a lot because the heat will kill them usually.
