  1. okay, well just to clear things up, it's not a worm, it's a fungus. it causes skin irritation and hair loss in a circular pattern on the skin. you can get it from contact - direct or indirect - with other affected animals. so, if u took ur cat out recently or if u made contact with another cat on your clothes, it could've happened. i'm pretty sure it's not from fleas though, that would be an actual worm. oh and ppl can get it too so beware.

    good luck to ya

  2. Ringworm's a fungus that lives in the ground.  The cat walks through it and gets it on feet, then spreads it to the rest of it's body when it washes.  It will shed those ringworm spores, and other cats can pick it up that way.  In a healthy adult cat, the cat's immune system isn't affected by the fungus.  But in a young cat or one with a compromised immune system (one that's sick or stressed) the fungus can cause a cat to get those lesions you see, most often around the face and head.  People and dogs can get it too!

  3. It's not actually a worm, it's a fungus. It got it's name because of the ring shape of the rash. This wiki has all your answers:
