  1. Go to the pet store and buy water conditioner. It'll keep the chlorine and chloramine in your tap water from killing the fish.

  2. First of all, don't put the water from your sink into the fish tank. Unless you are talking about your tap water, of course.

    Then I would use SeaChem Prime it eliminates chlorine and chloramine, and 'detoxifies' ammonia.  You need to remember that SeaChem Prime detoxifies ammonia, because as long as your ammonia is not off the scale, nitrites are zero, and your nitrates are 10-30ppm, and your ph is under 7 your tank should be on its way to cycling!!

    If you need more information about cycling, this site should help;

    I hope that helps you, good luck!!!  :)

  3. Try letting the water sit for a couple of days before you put it in and get water conditioner. Also, maybe you could buy a water purifier that you put in the container and it filters the water? That might help too. Definitely buy water conditioner! Ask your pet store if they check your water. If so, take in your water so they can check it for different things. Hope I helped!

  4. The only real permanent solution is installing a reverse osmosis (R/O) system. This will solve just about any water issue.

    What is it about your sink water that is harming your fish? Chlorine? Nitrogen levels? High levels of metals?

    More info could help us to suggest something that isn't quite so expensive...

  5. Please repeat the 1st grade  and learn to spell.

  6. yea - ur sink water has chlorine in it!!!   That will kill them for sure!  Add Start Right drops to the tank (they sell them at any walmart and pet store)  that will solve your problem.

  7. There are chemicals in the sink water that are unhealthy for the fish, they can evgen be harmful to you. One way you can still feed them it is if you put the water in a bowl and put it out in the sun for atleast 5 days.(I still suggest longer) or you can just add spring water, the kind that you can find in bottles, like arrowhead. make sure you don't change the water the second you get the fish. let it stay in the water for 2 days and than each day take out some and add some. slowly increasing how much you take out and add day by day.

  8. I run my tap water through a Brita filter pitcher, and then put it in the tank. or go to the store and buy some spring water.
