  1. I installed a new alternator on this particular car last night. Not like an american made car. But not that tough IF you know what your doing. I didn't but I do now. Just a few hints. The alternator will have to be taken out underneath the car. You will need to jack it up on the passenger side, or better yet, put it up on jack stands. You'll have to remove the skirts or shields that are behind the tire and one underneath the front side. There are two bolts holding the alternator on, the topside bolt is easy and can be seen. The bottom one isn't so easy. The AC compressor will have to be unbolted and moved aside.(be careful and you shouldn't have to remove the lines and lose your freon) The bottom bolt on the Alternator has to be loosened from the engine side, you can't really see it but it lines up with the square looking nut you'll see near the idler pulley. One thing I learned when putting it back in, That square nut has a flange on it that keeps it from  turning, that flange rests against the alternator. It has to go a certain way or the idler pulley won't work correctly. Once you get that bottom bolt in, your halfway home. Make sure you tighten the belt and all bolts. Don't forget the radiator hose.
