  1. All of their food is very poor quality, so I am sure their profit on and $8.99 buffet is more astronomical than an average buffet of any other type.   However, they always go out of business here, as the food is always awful as well as the cleanliness and the awful service staff.

  2. I think that the answer to that question is going to be the labor.  Have you ever noticed that all of the employees can barely speak english?  They are probably working for the bare minimum with no benefits or overtime.  It's alot of money though to them and they eventually go back to their countries, then another family member comes in to replace them.

Prime example.  My husband and I got really attached to this waitress.  All she could really say in English was Thank You.  We tipped her like $10 every visit cause she was so awesome.  One day, she was gone.  The owner said she went on vacation... she never came back.  We got attached to another waitress who was new.  One day we came in and she was gone.  Another customer asked about her and the owner said she went to New York.  She never came back either :(

  3. As the  person above me said, they pay their staff next to nothing . They also use cheap ingredients  and lots of frozen and processed stuff. Next time you eat at one of those buffets notice the ratio of meat in the dishes to  "filler" vegetables such as onions. They cut a lot of corners  which is why they are so cheap.

  4. neighborhood animals on the menu

  5. My local buffet does has seafood, but those crab legs get grabbed up quickly!  They have a limit on how many you are supposed to take at one time.  And I think maybe they are only on weekends.

In the dishes, I think frozen shrimp can be just as cheap as chicken or beef.

Most people will eat way less than what they think.  I don't eat any more than I would with chinese takeout which is half the price and I have leftovers.  It's the novelty of being able to taste so many things at once.

And yes, the labor is cheap.

  6. Hmmm...waitress's disappearing and cheap food...I'd be calling the cops because that Beef is people!
