  1. citizens do next to nothing (Not vote or attend mettings) to influence public policy...

    then the self important pompous (donkeys) are free to establish stupid laws (See Patriot Act)

    So long as it doesn't effect their ability to buy beer and watch ESPN a lot of people just don't care!


  2. By being aware of the issues and participating in the democratic process.

  3. Vote, voice your opinions on local levels as well as State issue and on Federal levels.

  4. Concentrate on one or two issues most important to you, publicize them, then contact politicians at the right time.
