  1. Clouds have4 mass, therefore they have weight, if the weight of a cloud is less than the weight of a layer of the atmosphere below it, but more than the layer above it, it will float on the lower level.


  2. most of the features that govern our weather, including most clouds and wind systems, occur in the troposphere. in the upper troposphere and the lower stratosphere, there are strong air currents moving at speed  of 160 kilometres an hour. these are called jet-streams which are important to pilots of jet aircraft who fly in this zone.

  3. Or, to keep things simple, clouds are little water droplets like steam from boiling water. Steam floats up, goes where the wind blows it to, so do clouds.
