  1. constructive forces build up. this would include volcanoes spewing lava that builds up the cone and also (in the case of hawaii) more land. Also, continents and plates colliding push up mountain ranges.

    destructive forces break down.  erosion from rivers make canyons. erosion from water, ice and wind break down rock and lower mountains.
