Do the trucks have GPS to help you find places to deliver to or do you have to know where to go yourself?

  1. Its all in my head and occasionally I use a map.

  2. For the most part, when taking the job, the shipping company requests that the delivery drivers have a basic knowledge of the area they are covering. If they need to deliver to an unfamiliar address, they will probably use a map. However, in some larger metro areas, Seattle, Chicago, New York, ect. It may become more confusing to find addresses, so some vehicles are outfitted with a GPS to help locate the address and how to get there.

    Hope this helps!

  3. Areas for most delivery drivers are not very large, and after working that route for some time drivers know where to find most addresses fairly quickly. Also, many stops are recurring over time and after the first time you find it going back another day isn't tough.

  4. It's all repetitive. I'm a Fedex driver that just moved to a new city/state that I've never lived in.  I got 2weeks of riding along with someone else, then was sent on my way.  It's all memory with an occasional glance at a map.
