How do deaf people communicate when it's dark?

I was just pondering this at work, and I really have no idea how they do it. Since they can't see in the dark, how can they communicate? Can they only sign when it's light? Or what?

Thanks!

  1. im geussing they turn on the lights to see eachothers signs at night

or they whip out the flash light to brighten their nice hands also maybe..

  2. Roxy, thanks for the tutorial.  We're aware of that.  We're talking about deaf people seeing each other WHEN IT'S DARK.  Makes it kind of difficult to see one another.

Depends.  If they're a husband and wife in bed, they can tactile sign.  One signs something and the other has their hands placed over the signer's and can feel everything they've signed.

Roomates across the room?  Some sort of light source is needed.

  3. most deaf people keep some sort of dim light on in the house. if they are out they can use their cell phones for a quick light. and some have ventured to try glow-in-the-dark gloves for signers.

  4. they can touch eachother? but its almost never that dark you cant see at all

  5. deaf people can't hear.

    Blind people can't see
