  1. yes if they do it properly you won't be able to tell. they drill the enamel on both teeth and fill it, they will also file in between the teeth to make them separate again.

  2. the dentist will use white filling stuff on your front teeth

  3. They drill them cavity out and fill the hole. The filling should be white and a close match to your teeth.

Leave the cavities and your teeth will rot off, literally! You will look like the stereotypical southern simpleton.

  4. First, the size of the cavity will make a difference.  If the cavity is small, an access opening is made from the tongue-side of the tooth and only a small sliver (approx 1-2mm) of the white, tooth-colored filling will be visible from the front in your smile.  If, however, the cavity is larger, then the access required to remove all the decay and unsupported enamel will be larger and more of the tooth-colored filling material will be visible from the front.  Even if a cavity is large and the filling material is visible from the front, it can still be unnoticeable in your smile if the dentist selects the proper color when placing the filling AND the dentist spends the time to finish and polish the filling surface down smooth so as to match to the remaining tooth.  When done well it is hard for anyone but a dentist to see that you've had a filling.
