  1. Reading to a child is very helpful.  It teaches them to have imagination as well as recognizing words.  Singing songs will teach them (such as ABC'S, Nursery Rhymes, etc.)  Also remember to show them the letters so they are able to recognize them.  Ask questions about colors, (what color is that?  Do you think it is a pretty color?, What elce is that color?)  Ask questions about the shapes of things.  (Traffic signs, the t.v., plates, ect.)  That is the basics.  Your child should know there colors, shapes, abc's (not necessarily by sight) before entering kindergarten.

  2. what abt the age of u r child?

  3. Review stuff taught stuff at school.

  4. read to your kids. then tell your kid to try to read some easy words.

trust me all this hard work goes a long way!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Spend as much time u can with ur child. Put emphasis on quality of time not quantity. Try to teach in friendly way. Don't shout in front of ur child.

  6. Encourage their actions

  7. Read to them it's amazing how much they learn from story books.

  8. I think that the most important thing is to keep them away from the television. It is important to do fun things that your kids will enjoy that is age appropriate! Shaving cream with food coloring is fun for younger kids to learn about texture and they just love the feel inbtween their fingers! Interaction! READING is so important...singing short songs!Good luck! There are alot of great ways to help them learn! Attention is the most important thing! Great question!

  9. best and easiest way is to partake of what is called "incidental learning"----start out easy---today lets wear the red shirt and blue pants---and move on to other topics---sizes, shapes, oppisites---then move on to letters and numbers(first saying them, then matching them, then naming them)

then once this step is accomplished by the child or children then the next step is to include other items to add to the "incidental learning" parade.....add books(with good quality photograph type pictures)you can then name any of the previous choices---colors, shapes, sizes, opposites, positonal words(first, second, last, on/off, under/over)then working up to letters and numbers never pushing on your child and watching the childs mood and behavior------then start adding other materials--playdough, markers, pencils, crayons, blocks, various papers to use with all

always remembering that a child (learns by playing and plays to learn)once your child has shown you they are ready to move on to "table work" like workbooks and worksheets ---by asking to help you do your "paperwork" you can began to add one or two pages at a time for them to work on to only enhance what you have already working on  for maybe months or years---

hopefully all during this time you have been making sure to encourage your childs questions and answering them at their level and exposing them to the world around them(parks, museums, public transportation, shopping, family get togethers, etc) because children also learn by watching and helping with these things.

good luck and happy learning for all of you involved
