    CCD receives the visual radiations and convert them into digital signals...

    these signals go through a miniature micro computer circuitry... and stored in a memory stick or a miniature hard disc...

    this is how the process can be explained in a lay-man's language...


  2. They use fantastic technology, which 'burns' the image onto something known as a CCD sensor - a very sensitive piece of technology responsible for recognising the image you have just snapped up and converting it into a JPEG or other image format.

    The process is much like film, in the sense that the camera lets the light through and captures it, just with film the process is a lot simpler.
