    Reattachment surgery is tedious. The wound of course has to be cleansed meticulously, and devitalized tissue has to be debrided. Pins, plates, K-wires, or other of those gizmos orthopedists love may be used for bony fixation, and an operating microscope and tiny sutures are needed for vascular and neural reattachments. Tendons, fascia, and other soft tissues are reattached using standard techniques. Then it's time to cross your fingers and trust to luck, with limited expectations.
