  1. double shift usually means back to back shifts and it's implied that a half hour would go between the shifts.

  2. Most people will get scheduled for 1 or 2 doubles a month.. if it happens more than that I would say something, most people ask for doubles.. anyhow it sucks but you'll at least bring in some money! I'd lay low and see how it goes or find someone who wants to take the other half of your shift, that usually worked for me. Just see if they are trying to over work you the next few weeks. The only good thing about that is it means they think you are a good server.

I hate doubles but maybe they just didn't have anyone else to come in that day? After about 2 months bring it up to the person whos doing the schedule that you are not willing to work doubles and make sure they give you your break its illegal not to, sometimes Chili's will try and keep you on the whole time and let you eat in the back while still working NOT AN OPTION!

Good luck on your double and I see this a lot with people who have a good work ethic do not let them walk all over you, they will work you until your dead tired if this is how the management works there, speak up but wait so you dont get fired or get s**+* sections when you work.. it happens sad as it is.

  3. I work at chilis myself and doubles are a very common thing for my store.  Almost everybody is a double on saturdays, and most don't even get a break because there isn't enough time to finish sidework and be off before the next shift starts.  Sometimes there is even overlapping, like I worked at 11 and was still on at 4 when my second shift started at 3:30.  I hate to say this, but people that are newer generally get crappy shifts and more doubles, its all part of working in a restaurant, and it sucks.
