  1. warm moist air rises & expands (evaporation) - cools (condensation) - rain falls (precipitation)

  2. Imagine a lake near mountains. Warm air causes water to evaporate from the lake and rise into the sky. The evaporated water forms clouds. Wind blows the clouds toward the mountains. Cool air above the mountains causes the water in the clouds to condense and fall as rain. The rain might fall and run down the mountains into the lake where it could be evaporated again. Or the rain might fall on the other side of the mountains so that water never returns to the lake. That is one way that evaporation and condensation cause water to cycle and move.
