How do eyes change color?

Question

is it possible for a person with dark brown eyes [ 14 years old ] to have them change to a lighter color. i don't want contacts but i am just wondering when eyes do change colors how does it happen what triggers it ? it is possible for eyes to change colors i dont mean by lighting i mean like eyes changing from brown to a hazel like a golden green ,something close to that. what would help an eye change? i know that if you have blue eyes they change with alot of melanin but brown eyes have alot of melanin ?

what would increase the chance of my eyes changing colors ?

Hazel isn't golden green.  Hazel is light golden brown.  See links for pure hazel:

It's impossible for your eye color to change without contacts.
