I need to find out what the "Fare Market Value" was on my cat that died from the recalled cat food. He was priceless to me, but in order for me to file my papers with the case action suit, they need to know that Value amount.so how do I prove his Fare Market amount?

  1. Wow...that's probably the weirdest question I have ever seen. I'm really sorry about your cat. But, animals are considered property... so, you have to assess the Fair Market Value of your cat? (I.e., you have to put a price on Fluffy...)

Here's some info I found through Google regarding the "Journal of Animal Law".

    http://www.animallaw.info/journals/jo_pd...

    http://www.animallaw.info/policy/pojoura...

On this site you can search state by state information. I hope this helps!

  2. I cant beleive they want you to come up with an amount of how much your cat was worth! That's horrible. It probably goes on what breed it was. Maybe try contacting a local breeder of that kind of cat.
