How do firefighters currently order their uniforms, and other work related clothes?

Do they all get order forms and they turn it in when their done, or is their a dead line to turn it in ? How do they go about getting their stuff ?

NYC Fire department has a Uniform Store.  Each member makes arrangements to purchase their own equipment.
