  1. Im in the same exact situation. It really depends on what your team needs. you may be the only good middle blocker on the team. ( I know i am) and the tam may already have alot of good outside hitters. It's harder to play middle than outside. You have to have a good block and a good hit. Outsides do way less blocking.

Another thing is that outsides have to also be good passers and decision makers. a outisde hitters 1st job is to pass a good ball, then focus on hitting. Just a tip-maby you need to work on passing?

    I hope this helped!

Good Luck on becoming an Outside Hitter.

  2. well.. i know how u feel...

if your coach is like mine... u feel intimidated by her and are scared to ask her if u can play there sometimes... but u just gotta ask her anywayz... when i did.. she agreed to let me play there sometimes

but, she may feel that you are the only one good at the position u currently play...so it all depends on what u wanna do...and what u feel is best for you and the team...

  3. maybe u are a really good blocker is why she is putting u as a middle hitter and to tell u the truth an outside hitter isnt really any different then a middle hitter. i used to be a outside but now im a middle and i like it way more just cuz there is alot more action. but thats just me. maybe u could ask your coach if u could be an outside hitter.

  4. just ask her !

    you must b really good!

  5. ask your coach why you aren't???? and maybe youre better as a middle blocker. i mean. your coach is doing what they think is best for the team. so...just talk to them. and see what they say.

  6. As a coach, I look for quickness and blocking ability in my middles, and of course good hitting. You must be tall and quick for your coach to put you at middle. Take advantage of the position! Hit as hard as you can to as many angles that you can. Block the snot out of the ball! Don't worry about hitting outside, just make sure you call for hits and hit hard. Besides, most of the time the middle hitters only have one blocker against them... more opportunity to hit hard and not be blocked.

  7. You need to talk to your coach and let her know that you want to hit outside, and ask her what you need to do to get there. She may feel that you are more effective for her lineup as a middle hitter. Also if you at least talk to her that will show her that you want to improve and try something different. You don't have anything to lose, she is not going to be angry with you for asking and when you do, you will know what she needs from you to be an outside hitter. Just talk to her, that is my best advise for this situation.
