  1. They like living in the hot humid climate. Depends where there food is at. There chances of living.

  2. Well, one giraffe cannot adapt. He has been born with the genes that he has and he can't change those. If you mean superficially, maybe if it is raining he finds shelter or if the food is scarce, he moves somewhere else.....those aren't real adaptations, just reactions to their environment.

The entire species of giraffe will adapt to their environment as their environment changes and they will do it accordingly. Say if by chance, another tall animal moves in and starts eating the tall trees, then the very tallest giraffes (who are taller than the new animal) will survive longer and therefore have more offspring and therefore send that gene that made them that tall into the next generation, and this will keep happening. The shorter giraffes will not live as long and that gene will lose frequencey in the gene pool. Therefore, over a very long period of time you will see a shift in increasing height. It could change according to any changes in the environment....like heat, they would lose fur or color of surroundings could change and then the color of the giraffes would shift because ones that blended in better would be less likely to die, etc. The population will adapt according to the environment or they will die off.
