I was wondering how Nastia Liukin would get that one little thing she does to get named after her. Do they do it after she retires or something?

  1. The skill needs to be competed on podium, either at the Olympics or Worlds. The FIG has to approve it, and it needs to be proven that a gymnast was the first to do so. As mentioned, its really debatable if Nastia Liukin was the first to throw the walkover to arabesque.

  2. @tintin "Nah...shes not as great as the Americans think she is... "

lmao that is why she made the Olympics team and won a gold in the all around as well as 3 other silvers and 1 bronze.

  3. It would be named after her if she was to do something nobody else had ever did before. They do it in lots of other sports too, including skateboarding and snowboarding. She doesn't have to be retired because there is a vault named after Kyle Shewfelt and he hasn't retired yet.

  4. Nah...shes not as great as the Americans think she is...

  5. To get the trick named after her Nastia would have to file paperwork and send it to the FIG (International Gymnastics Federation) and would have to the first to perform it at an international meet. The problem with her beam skill is many people are debating that she was not the first to perform it (regardless of what Tim says on NBC) so it may not be named after her.
