How do heat transfers work?

  1. Heat transfer always goes from a hot object to a cold one. The cold object absorbs energy from the hotter object until the two objects are the same temparative.


  2. Put an ice cube in your hand.  It starts to melt and your hand gets cold.  Heat, or more accurately, temperature transfer has been made in both directions.
