How do hermit crabs go to the bathroom?

You know how they stay in a shell, so how do they go potty? I used to have a pet one and I never saw it crawl out to go....is its butt on its face?

  1. They just go to the bathroom like any other living thing. I have a pet one and it kind of leaves little pasty brown pellets. And no, it's butt is NOT on it's face! Lol!
