My fence got knocked down in a bad storm we had and the wind tore my screens out of my back pourch along with the frame and we have a 500 deductible. I was wondering do they take that 500 out of the amount of damage or do we have to pay it up front?

  1. Generally, you get an estimate for damage.  You pay the $500 and they pay the rest if covered under your policy.  Generally, the higher your deductibles, the lower your premiums.

  2. usually they just give you whatever it would cost to fix it minus the $500.

i work at an insurance company, and ive never heard someone actually having to pull out the $500.

  3. they just deduct the 500 from what they pay you.

  4. You get a check for the damage repair, less $500.
