  1. homo habilis were not capable of expressing themselves artistically. There is absolutely no evidence to the contrary. Tools are not art.


  2. That far back there's no real evidence.

    They didn't seen to paint or alter objects, but they do find oddly coloured stones (usually red) that have no obvious function in with hominid remains sometimes.

    They spent an inordinate amount of time perfecting this art form.

    Time, I should point out that they could have spent trying to figure out how not to become extinct.
