Well, until I joined Yahoo answers, I thought that we were the only living creatures who could spell.  But once again, I have been proven wrong.  Humans should have the knowledge to choose between right and wrong, believe in God, have and use an opposing thumb and if able speak more than one language.

What a simple answer to a simple question. Here is the scientific answer:

Humans are Humans and Animals are Animals and a human is not an animal and animals are not human.

Don't make it any more complex what what this scientific fact is.

This question requires a complicated answer.  Just because some humans can do something does not mean all humans can do it.  For example, blind humans cannot see, people in wheelchairs cannot walk on two legs, everyone does not have opposable thumbs, infants cannot speak, some people cannot write or read and not everyone has the arrogance to believe that Humans are better than all other lifeforms.

If you believe that Humans are not animals, then whatever lead you to that belief is the answer to your question.  If you believe that Humans are animals, then one or more of the following would be used to differentiate Humans from all other animals:

(1)  Larger brain size with respect to total body mass.  This is often reduced to Big Heads.  This is often followed with some statement of how the human brain allows for logic, languare or self consciousness.

(2)  Bipedal.  Most humans walk on two legs, allowing their hands (and arms) to be used as they walk.

(3)  Humans use a wider variety of tools than all other known animals combined.  Humans usually make their tools or have other humans make them.  Humans also make tools which have more than a single function.  Most claim that the opposable thumb has a lot to do with this tool usage.



(4)  Humans are the only species which kill each other for reasons other than food or mating.  They also can kill others that they do not even know personally (to say nothing of weapons of mass destruction).

(5)  Humans are the only species which can greatly modify their environment over a very wide range of conditions.  This include actions which lead to total deforestation of rain forests and global warming and making holes in the ozone layer of the upper atmosphere.

(6)  Humans are the only known species from Earth which have the technology to travel to another gravitational body in the solar system (the moon) or start nuclear and thermonuclear reactions.

(7)  In terms of humans as primates, Humans are the only species to lack a covering of fur over most of there bodies and have females who undergo a process called menopause during which the female becomes infertile before their death.
