  1. I take my 2 steps to get to it,left then right.then, get your hands ready to set by,putting your hands above your head with your fingers slightly spread.when you set, your supposed to use like only the first 2 or 3 fingers on both hands,i use three.but anyways, look through your hands, have them shaped like a triangle to see through it.as you jump, push the volleyball out to your target.trust me,it will take practice.when i jump,i bring my legs to my butt,i don't know why,it's just how i was taught, and learned.and it makes me jump higher.hope this helps!

  2. Start slowly.  Work with a partner.  Stand about 6 feet apart.  The easiest jump set is just forward.  If you have a partner that is also a setter, do short jump sets back and forth.  Set the ball about 2 or 3 feet above your partner.  Have them jump to set the ball.  You do the same.  If you can keep working on this and you get comfortable doing the short sets back and forth, you can start setting the ball higher to each other.

Once you get comfortable with that drill, add a third player.  Jump setting back and forth is easy.  Changing it to a triangle is tougher.  Again, start about 6 feet apart.  Start first with the three of you in a close triangle.  Set the ball directly over the one person.  That person will turn and jump set the ball to the next person.  That person will turn and jump set it to you.  And so on.  As you get this part down, you can set the ball higher.  Then you can move farther apart.

You can also work on jump setting by yourself.  I used to jump set to the roof on the garage.  You can jump set to a wall.

  3. Hold your hands above your forehead with your thumbs and pointer fingers nearly touching, making a diamond shape, with the rest of your fingers spread open. Bend your knees.

Push up with your legs and arms, snapping the ball up with your hands in the direction  you'd like it to go (like you're Superman flying). This is for regular setting I'm guessing just jump to jump set. I play volleyball as a hitter so when you set it, adjust to the hitter's needs, it makes the hit much better.

  4. Jump set should be something that you have to learn from your coach in-person. If s/he doesn't know how to do it, you should not be asked to do it.

It would be a little more complicated than "ground-set", as you will need to jump and balance yourself in the air, twist your waist and upper body when needed, and get your strength from your waist, your jump, all the way up to your arms and to your wrists. You need to "suck in" any spin in the pass within milli-second of your contact with the ball, and push the ball up to the spot where your play calls for it, and you should also have the option to dump the ball and catch your opponent off-guard. You need to hide your intention from your opponent and keep three or more options open even when you are in the air: Front high, front quick (1, 2, and 3), back set high, slide, and dump.

  5. its just like regular setting you just have to jump nothing fancy =]
