How do i activate a previously used verizon phone?

Call Verizon and they'll turn it back on for you.

Either go online or call customer service and let them know that you want to do an ESN change. The ESN number can be located on the back of the phone behind the battery compartment. After the new ESN is entered into your account, youll just have to program the phone by pressing *228 and hit send, and following the voice prompts

You will have to call Verizon to put the phone on your service, assuming you have Verizon as a carrier. If you do not have cell service, you will have to get an account with Verizon to activate the phone.
