How do i add Horsepower on my 2000 Honda Civic SI?

Im lookin for cheap ways to add HP?

trade it in on an eclipse (j/k) seriously the quickest cheapest ways to add power are power adders that help it breathe in or out better or get a better spark to burn fuel more efficiently. so a k+n or a short air intake, or a new performance exhaust, replace your plugs and wires, check to see if someone can tune your efi that's half cheap and it's a REAL good way to get you there.

i'd start with the intake and exhaust though.

a good cheap 15-30hp in an si would be a good exhaust. i had the 5zeigen fireball on my 99 Si it was deep and not ricey. then i had an aem V2 intake but you dont have to go with that one of course just a suggestion cause i really liked it. just dont go into any puddles or your screwed. change your spark plugs. i used NGK's. if you can have your ecu flashed of any restrictions and tuned properly. put a short shifter on so you can shift faster. with just this mine went from running 15's-16's (15 me driving 16 other stock si's ive seen) to high 13s low 14s. eventually look into better spark plug wires and ignition and distributor. all that. id recoment MSD. oh an get a hi flow catalytic converter. performance headers. thats pretty much it for cheap. when you get into serious money email me on here and i can share some of my honda guru knowledge.

simple bolt ons are the easiest and cheapest, ie: headers, exhaust, intake. but dont expect huge hp gains. just those 3 may net you about 6-10hp. but like most things in the automotive aftermarket, you get what you pay for. dont buy something b/c its cheap. its most likely a knock off of a good brand. high priced parts usually mean the company does a lot of r and d on their products, which is good for us.
