I have a super dish system with one normal receiver operating two tv's and a dvr working the other two. I would like to add a fifth tv in my bonus room. Can I split the signal with a splitter and buy a new #2 ir remote and operate the fifth tv independently of the others?

  1. You cannot watch independantly if you split a TV2.  It would be a mirror.  You cannot get a 5th tuner for your home, unless you purchase it.  Dish Network will not lease you the 5th tuner.  Expect a cost of $99.

  2. If you have one cable going to each of these receivers from the dish on your roof then you should be able to add another receiver or two to get an independently tuned fifth TV.  Check with your installer or Dish Network.  For a TV that shows the same as one of the other TV sets you can split the signal be it a coax (coax cable splitter) or video and audio (AV distribution amplifier).
