  1. - the toss: upward and above your head (not more to the front - this is for flat serve)

    - the brush: impact after the ball reached its apex and going down a bit. brush with the strung surface inclined about 45 degrees. brush upward with forward swing until you feel the ball left the strings.

    - the kick: if performed correctly, the ball will travel across the net and going down quickly. the bounce will look like it was kicked and it bounces to different direction other than the original flight path.

    hope it helps :)

  2. First, your grip needs to be a continental grip, like the one you use at the net. If you let the ball fall, it sould land just behind you, for the best result. After you've got this down, you've gotta bend back, wait a little, and brush up against the ball as you come up. If you're hitting the frame, you are probably coming up too early. Try waiting a little longer in the back bend position.

The kick serve requires a lot of practice. I only really got it down yesterday after about 6 months of practice. Keep practicing, and be patient.

  3. The key is to brush the ball up and not brushing it at the side of the ball. The serve should generate a topspin motion and not sidespin. Topspin makes the kick
