  1. Go to tools/folder manager and tell it what folders to scan and when. If you set it to automatic you do nothing. Every time you start Picassa it looks for new photos.

  2. You can have all your photos placed in Picasa automatically.

You can import emailed photos or any other files with photos on your computer by saving them to a folder location that is set to 'Scan Always' in the Picasa Folder Manager. This setting tells Picasa to check the folder and add any new photos automatically.

Step 1: Set a folder to 'Scan Always'

       1. Open Picasa.

       2. Click Tools > Folder Manager.

       3. In the window that opens, select the desired folders in the Folder list. We recommend using the My Pictures folder located inside My Documents.

       4. On the right side of the window, select the radio button next to Scan Always.

       5. Click OK.

Step 2: Save the emailed photo to a folder that is set to 'Scan Always'

    For photos in emails:

       1. In your email program, select the message with an attached photo. The email should display an attachment icon of some kind, usually a paper clip icon.

       2. Click the attachment icon.

       3. Click Save. Note: You can also save by right-clicking the attachment icon.

       4. A Windows Explorer screen appears where you can select the location to save the photo to. Save to the folder that you set to 'Scan Always' in step 3 above.

       5. Click Save.

The emailed photo is now saved to your computer's hard drive. When you open Picasa, the photo should appear there, as long as the folder you saved to was set to 'Scan Always.'

    Hope this helps you out...
