Question:

How do i adjust my amp for my subs?

one of my friends messed with it to give me more power to my subs but now when i raise the volume to high it goes to protection and i don't know what he did. how can i adjust it so it doesn't do that anymore. and when i adjust it where should i put the bass and treble setting from the dash at? plz. help....

  1. He probably increased the gain and it is now too high.


  2. turn the gain down and (or) turn off the sub sonic bass if its on the amp

  3. just turn down the gain all the way and turn the stereo back up until its where u were at when it was cutting off and then turn ur gain up slowely until u get to where u want to be or until it goes into protection mode again and then u know that was too much....be careful though...u might have the subs wired at 2 low of an ohm and when u turn up the stereo the louder it gets, the more likely it will go into protection mode that way too....get a ohm meter an test ur wiring just to make sure....good luck...i usually put my bass on the lowest it can go cause i have my subs for that job and i keep my mids at about 5 or 6 and the highs about 6 or 7
