i am from northern ireland thus entitled to have british, irish nationlity. i currently hold a british passport but i would like to get dual nationality. how do i go aobut doing this? do i just apply for my irish passport and that's it. don't have i have go somewhere to say that i want dual nationality?

i have asked this question before and to those who do not understand the situation in northern ireland, we are entitled by law to carry either passport - northern ireland being on the island of ireland, although being part of the uk. even if that was not correct, all 4 of my grandparents were born in dublin and galway, making them irish.

  2. I think you just apply direct to Dublin.

My cousins daughter, who was born in Australia, already has an Australian passport.  She can also apply for a British passport before she reaches 18 and thus have dual nationality.  After 18 she would not be entitled to dual nationality.
