  1. I really wanted a myspace at 12 and my parents agreed on 13. (The age I can have a myspace) The funny thing is, since i've been 13, I haven't gotten one! Myspace is not all that but if you want to get one, try to explain:

    *You're mature and sensible

*You'll show self control when you go on myspace

*Also, you can promise that every month, your parents can do a myspace check and it will make them feel more comfortable.

Maybe, it is not the right time to get a myspace though. Try waiting a little longer if this doesn't work. You could work out an age with your parents if you need one more idea too!

  2. you dont convince them.

    they are being good parents.

you dont have to post personal information on your site - with a few details a predator can find you.

your first one got hacked why not your second?

lets see no personal details:  are you a cheerleader?  what color uniform?  school mascot? play on any team sport?  walk home from school, ride bus, time bus leaves school, what time you get home? favorite teacher, worst teacher -

all of the above seem like totally innocent questions dont they?

you would answer without a second thought to an online "friend"

someone you have NEVER met, do not know how old they are, and do not know if they are male or female

from any ONE of those questions a predator could find you -

think your parents are still old, don't understand, unfair, mean and never let you do anything?  try being sold into sexual slavery - shipped out of the country - hidden in your very own town - used for child p**n, used for child prostitution to support someones drug habit - or just so some pervert can pay your 'handler' to watch you 'willingly' do these things (because it's important to the watcher for you to enjoy it) - think about all of that -

because that is within the realm of POSSIBILITY

still want a myspace page?  sure you do youre a teenager who thinks they know best - deal with not having a myspace page, you will live, and thank your parents for CARING enough to say no

  3. Why don't you ask them if you can have myspace, but allow them to control the amount of time you use it.  It would be better if they said you could have it for an hour a day.  It is very addictive and can take you away from school work and socialising, but if your parents police the amount of usage then it may work well for both of you.

  4. uhmm....you dont deserve one seeing that you went behind their backs to get one. it deserved to get hacked & you just proved how immature you are & how irresponsible you can be. you dont have a case to argue at all.

  5. Do they need convincing? What reasons do you think they might have to say no?

If they are concerned that you might be posting/chatting with people they feel are undesirable, perhaps you can tell them that you will be very open with your myspace - and they can check it out for themselves regularly.

If they are concerned that you will spend too much time online, offer to restrict your online time to certain time periods.

It is always better if YOU are the one suggesting limitations, instead of waiting and having them impose them. Aside from everything else, it shows that you respect them and understand that they are concerned about you - and that builds their confidence in you.

  6. Oh, my mom was so against it until I turned twelve [a year and a half ago]. My brother had this thing with brushing his teeth [ew] and she said, "if you brush your teeth, you can have one ..." Even though he didn't follow up with the promise [only once].

He already had one, also. The thing was she knew and was yelling at him and all, so the whole point was that she would stop.

My mom doesn't trust me as much as my brother [don't know why .. I'm a year older than him!] so at first she told me, "no". I made one anyway, set it on private so she couldn't see and all [she's very judge mental and freaks out too much ..]. I only sent friend requests to people I knew, so no problem there. :)

Um, just tell her you'll only accept requests from people you KNOW [which isn't a problem, everyone has a Myspace ... just about, lol] and you'll set it on private and all! Tell her you won't talk to anyone you don't know in person and all. Ask her what you can do to make her let you have one. :)

It's not that big of a deal to have one, though. Trust me.

If they're worried about the fact that all those deluded little girls go to places to meet old guys and all ... tell them not to worry and everything.

  7. Sneak one or make one

at a net cafe or at anyone

    you knows who has internet

    and just make your own

and stay quit about it until

your 18 sounds good or what?

  8. is nothing wrong not having one... i know many cases girls cant have one for reasons of their parents but is koo juss ask them again ..... tell themmm plzzzzzzz daddy and mommy i want one can i have one plzzz lol.... well ask them in a nice way and tell em why u want it better have a good reason...
